City Updates Weather Related Closures and Service Changes

The City of Lincoln today announced updated closures and service changes for Wednesday, March 19, due to blizzard conditions. The changes are as follows:

  • StarTran buses are running up to 10 minutes behind.
  • Lincoln City Libraries are closed all day, Wednesday, March 19. The Lied Bookmobile will not be in service. The bookmobile was scheduled to visit Kloefkorn Elementary, 6601 Glass Ridge Drive, and Bennet Community Church, 350 Monroe St., Bennet.
  • The Pioneers Park Nature Center and Parks and Recreation community and recreation centers will close at noon. All sports field use is canceled. Contact the Team Sports office at 402-441-7892 to reschedule.
  • The Bluff Road and North 48th Street Solid Waste Management Facilities are currently closed. Lincoln Transportation and Utilities is evaluating when the facilities will reopen. City recycling sites are currently closed and will reopen for service Thursday, March 20, 2025.
  • Aging Partners offices will close at noon. All Aging Partners Senior Centers in Lincoln and Lancaster County are closed. The Aging Partners Fitness Center at Victory Park is closed and all other senior center activities cancelled.
  • The Women, Infants and Children program north office, 2662 Cornhusker Hwy., Suite 7, has canceled its extended hours and will close at 4:30 p.m.
  • Day structure is canceled at Easterday Recreation Center, 6130 Adams St. Preschool is cancelled at the Pioneers Park Nature Center, 3201 S. Coddington Ave., and Calvert Recreation Center, 450 Stockwell St., which follow the Lincoln Public Schools schedule.
