The Parks and Recreation Department today announced that the Rock Island Trail Bridge in Wilderness Park will be intermittently closed beginning Friday, April 18, for repairs and bridge deck sealing. The work is expected to be completed by Friday, April 25.
The recently renovated bridge over Salt Creek is part of the new Rock Island Trail extension into Wilderness park. It is located between Red Trail markers 50 and 51, west of Densmore Park and approximately one half mile south of Warlick Boulevard. Barricades will be in place when full trail closures are necessary. Trail users are advised to plan ahead, follow onsite barricades and signs, and use alternate routes.
