Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) invites residents to an open house on Wednesday, May 14, regarding a rehabilitation project on Adams Street from 36th to 49th streets. The event will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall on the lower level of First United Methodist Church, 2723 North 50th Street.
Improvements will span about one mile and include concrete replacement and repairs, grading, milling, and resurfacing. Additional work includes reconstructing pedestrian ramps, curbs and gutters, and replacing the pedestrian crossing signal near North 46th Street to increase safety for pedestrians and vehicles.
Members of the project team will be available to answer questions and provide an overview of the project, as well as information on the planned improvements, project phasing and the construction schedule. No formal presentation is planned.
Individuals with disabilities may use the entrance on 50th Street, located on the east side of the building, for direct access to the elevator. Accessible parking is also available on 50th Street.
Construction is expected to begin in late May and be completed in early 2026. For more information on this public open house or the project, visit lincoln.ne.gov (search: Adams 36th).
