City Pools to Remain Closed May 27 Due to Cold Weather

Pool openings delayed until May 28, weather pending

The Parks and Recreation Department today announced that nine City pools will remain closed today, Tuesday, May 27, due to cold weather. The pools are scheduled to open Wednesday, May 28, weather pending.

City policy requires a high temperature of at least 70 degrees for pools to open. Staff assess weather conditions daily. City pool hours are from 1 to 6 p.m. seven days a week.

Aquatic Centers

Neighborhood Pools 

  • Arnold Heights Pool, 4000 NW. 46th St., 402-441-7829 
  • Ballard Pool, 3901 N. 66th St., 402-441-7898 
  • Belmont Pool, 12th and Manatt streets, 402-441-7826  
  • Eden Pool, 4400 Antelope Creek, 402-441-7827 
  • Irvingdale Pool, 1900 Van Dorn St., 402-441-7828 
  • Woods Pool, 33rd and "J" streets, 402-441-7782 

Family Swim Nights begin June 2 and are offered from 6 to 8 p.m. The fee is $15 per family of two adults and four children. The schedule is as follows: 

  • Monday: Belmont 
  • Tuesday: Eden 
  • Wednesday: Irvingdale and Highlands 
  • Thursday: Ballard 
  • Friday: Arnold Heights and Woods 

The free Trago Spray ground in Trago Park, 22nd and “U” streets is now open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week, through Labor Day.
