Two Street Closures Begin June 2

Published on May 29, 2025

Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) today announced that portions of two streets will close beginning Monday, June 2. The closures are as follows:

  • Eastbound “O” Street between 44th and 46th streets will close for private wastewater repair work. This work is expected to be completed by Monday, June 9. The recommended route is “O” Street to North 44th Street to “R” Street to North 48th Street.
  • Northwest 12th Street between West Highland Boulevard and Kingbird Road will have northbound and southbound lane closures for a Lincoln on the Move street improvement project. Traffic will be shifted to a head-to-head pattern in the open lanes. These lane closures are expected to continue through mid-July. Bus stops for StarTran Route 52-Gaslight in this area will be closed during this work.

Travelers are encouraged to seek an alternate route and exercise caution around these closures. LTU appreciates the public’s patience during this closure and reminds residents that project dates are subject to change due to weather and unforeseen circumstances. Lincoln on the Move is a quarter-cent sales tax street investment effort focused on enhancing Lincoln’s street infrastructure.
