Portions of Several Streets to Close August 1, 3, and 4
Published on July 31, 2025
Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) today announced that portions of several streets will close August 1, 3, and 4. The closures are as follows:
Canopy Street between “Q” and “R” streets
and
“R” Street between
Seventh Street and Pinnacle Arena Drive
will be closed from 10 a.m. Friday, August 1, through 11 p.m. Saturday, August 2, due to a concert and event.
11th Street between “L” and “M” streets
will be closed from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, August 3, for an event.
Westbound Normal Boulevard between 56th and Van Dorn streets
will close beginning Monday, August 4, for a Lincoln on the Move street improvement project. This work is scheduled to be completed by early September. The recommended detour is 70th Street to South Street to 56th Street.
Travelers are encouraged to seek an alternate route and exercise caution around these closures. LTU appreciates the public’s patience during these closures and reminds residents that project dates are subject to change due to weather and unforeseen circumstances.
