Water 2.0 Public Information Meetings set for August 13, 14

Published on July 31, 2025

The City of Lincoln invites community members to two public information meetings in August for Water 2.0, a project to develop a second water supply.
The schedule is as follows:
  • Wednesday, August 13: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Sandhills Global Event Center, 4100 North 84th St., Lincoln
  • Thursday, August 14: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Gibson Hall, 101 West Eldora Ave., Weeping Water
The same information will be presented at both meetings. A short presentation will begin at 6 p.m. Representatives from the City of Lincoln and the consultant project team will be available to share information and answer questions until 7:30 p.m. Community members may visit any time during the meeting.
In 2022, a 27-member advisory council evaluated numerous alternatives for Lincoln’s second source of water. The City of Lincoln approved a proposal for a wellfield near the Missouri River, and is now planning a new wellfield, water treatment plant and water transmission line.
