Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) today announced that West “A” Street between Southwest 40th Street and South Coddington Avenue is now open to traffic.
The project was one of the largest improvement projects in the City’s history. The purpose of the West “A” Street Improvement Project was to upgrade nearly 2.5 miles of the corridor, stretching from the west city limits to the intersection of SW. Fifth Street.
Key improvements include:
New pavement
Roundabout intersections
ADA-accessible sidewalks
Multi-use trail
Sanitary sewer trunkline
Street lighting
Concrete pads at bus stops
New driveway connections
Additional cleanup work includes seeding, temporary street light replacement, mowing and weed removals.
