Pioneers Park Nature Center Outdoor Event set for October 3

The Pioneers Park Nature Center and Big Gumdrop Outdoors invite community members to a free outdoor evening event Friday, October 3. The free event will be from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Nature Center, 3201 S. Coddington Ave. Big Gumdrop Outdoors is a Lincoln-based nonprofit organization dedicated to educating youth about nature through immersive, hands-on experiences.

The event schedule is as follows:

  • 6 to 7:30 p.m. – S’mores and Gourds with Big Gumdrop Outdoors: Families can enjoy pumpkin carving, s’mores, and a free meal while supplies last. This hands-on event is designed to connect youth with nature through creative and engaging activities.
  • 7:30 to 10 p.m. – Outdoor Movie in the Park: Families can enjoy a free screening of the beloved classic film, “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.” Bring your own blankets or lawn chairs for a night under the stars. This event is part of the Nature Center’s Movies in the Park series, offering free outdoor film screenings in a natural setting.

The Pioneers Park Nature Center is a 668-acre wildlife sanctuary offering over eight miles of hiking trails, nature and wildlife exhibits, and a small bison herd. The center provides a peaceful retreat for people and a sanctuary for wildlife, promoting the enjoyment, appreciation, and awareness of the natural environment.
