The next phase of N.W. 48th Street Roadway Project will begin Wednesday, September 23 and will require a total closure of the east leg of the intersection at West Holdrege Street. The project includes the construction of a new intersection that will be about four feet lower than the existing one.
Due to the grade change, the contractor will provide temporary access to N.W. 48th Street south of the West Holdrege Street intersection for the public's use after the new paving is ready for traffic. The temporary connection will be needed until the northbound lanes are completed later this year and traffic is placed head-to-head on the northbound side.
Access to West Holdrege east of N.W. 48th Street is expected to be restored within three to four weeks. During the closure, traffic can access West Holdrege Street using N.W. 27th, West "O," West Vine and N.W. 40th streets.
