Thank you for your past usage of the Time Warner Cable Channel 10 message service for nonprofits.
The Citizen Information Center has received a grant from the Community Health Endowment to make Channel 10 a health and wellness channel – 10 Health (see news release below). We are continuing a message service on Channel 10, but only for events and programs focusing on health and wellness – chronic disease prevention, accident and injury reduction, behavioral and mental health, etc. New rules for this service are being developed, and a new online submission form will be available soon.
We have been considering a new focus for Channel 10 for a couple of years after City funding was eliminated for the staff time required to program the nonprofit messages. We have continued to offer a limited message service as time allowed until we had a new plan for the channel.
If you have an entertainment event, you may email information to Diane Gonzolas at dgonzolas@lincoln.ne.gov for the "Out and About" events program on 5 CITY-TV. This show is taped only once a month, and information should be sent as soon as possible. For example, the show we tape in late November will cover events happening from mid-December through mid-January.
We are very excited about the opportunities 10 Health presents to the community. I hope you will be able to take advantage of the other services in Lincoln to publicize your worthwhile events.
