NANCY FURMAN
PIONEERS PARK NATURE CENTER COORDINATOR
This month we are overly exited about having Nancy Furman, Coordinator of Pioneers Park
Nature Center, as our guest speaker! As Coordinator of the Pioneers Park Nature Center
for the past 13 years Nancy has led initiatives to have families, and all kids, connected
to the environment and enjoying the Park’s year round activities.
Nancy’s long term commitment with nature shines at the Nature Center! Nancy grew up in Lincoln and then served as the resident camp director at the State 4-H Camp and was the Executive Director of the Omaha YMCA camps in Halsey, Nebraska for an extensive time. As Coordinator of the Nature Center, Nancy oversaw the creation of the Nature Center’s Preschool Program, which has now grown to over 75 children; the annexation of over 200 acres; the outdoor play space consisting of natural materials; and the use of green building techniques.
With the limited time we have Nancy will speak on what the Nature Center does year round and what it has to offer families of all ages in Lincoln and the surrounding areas. The audience will be able to ask questions about the Center and their programs.
