Tree Planting Marks Start of Antelope Valley Project Construction

Planting an oak tree to mark the beginning of construction of the Antelope
Valley Project are Glenn Johnson, General Manager of the Lower Platte South
Natural Resources District, Mayor Wesely and UNL Chancellor Harvey Perlman.

Grant awarded to make Ager Junior Golf Course Accessible to Disabled
|
Mayor Don Wesely accepts a $50,000 check from United States Women's Golf
Association Committee member Laura Saf at a June 27 news conference at the
Jim Ager Memorial Junior Golf Course. The grant will support the city's
effort to make the Ager Junior Golf Course in Antelope Park more assessible
to those with disabilities. Using grant and matching funds, the city will
buy two single-rider golf carts, demonstrated here by Shelly Powell, for use
by those with disabilities.

Mayor Don Wesely is joined by Nebraska Department of Education Commissioner
Doug Christensen, Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Director Bruce Dart and
others as they celebrate the kick-off of the Summer Food Service Program for
Youth at the "F" Street Rec Center on June 18. The Lincoln-Lancaster County
Health Department partners with the Food and Nutrition Service of the Nebraska
Department of Education to offer the program.
