Plumbing Trade Registration

The renewal period for registration is from March 1st to May 31st. If you do not renew by May 31st, you will no longer be licensed to perform certain plumbing work in the City of Lincoln. Failure to renew within 60 days from the expiration of the license will result in the revocation of your license and you will be required to re-take any examinations that are a requirement of the license.

Steps to Renew:

1. Click the link:   Visit Citizen Access.  NOTE:  You do NOT need to create an account or log-in to renew your license
2. Scroll to the bottom of the page
3. Under Building click Search Applications
4. Enter your trade license number in the Record Number field and click Search
5. Click on Payments then Fees
6. Click the blue Pay Fees button
7. Click Continue and then enter payment information
8. If your renewal application is approved, then your new card will be emailed to you within 5 business days.

Remember – if you have a Journeyman license or a Master License you are required to submit the following number of CEU’s for approval prior to your license being approved for renewal: 

• A Master Plumber Contractor or Master Plumber is required to have 10 hours of CEUs.
• A Journeyman Plumber is required to have 6 hours of CEUs.

• Each trade professional needs to meet the minimum requirements outlined in Chapter 24 of the Lincoln Municipal Code.
• Apprentices can apply for an apprentice license at any time.
• New Pluming Journeyman, Plumbing Master Contractors, Gas Fitter Journeyman, Gas Fitter Masters, Water Conditioning Installers and Water Conditioning Contractors must pass the required exams prior to applying for their license. See the exam page for these requirements.
