Location
Identified as Adams Street from 38th to 49th Streets, this project will improve approximately one mile of Adams Street between 38th and 49th streets. Construction may begin and/or end approximately 50 feet ahead of or beyond the actual project limits to accommodate transitioning the pavement.
Purpose and Need
The purpose of this project is to preserve and extend the service life of the transportation asset, enhance the reliability of the transportation system, and perpetuate the mobility of the traveling public. The need for this project is based on information from the City of Lincoln’s Planning and Programming Division.
Scope of Work
The project includes concrete replacement and repairs, grading, milling, and resurfacing of the street. It also includes reconstruction of pedestrian ramps, curbs and gutters, and replacing the pedestrian crossing signal near North 46th Street to increase safety for pedestrians and vehicles.
This work is being coordinated with a water main replacement project on Adams Street from 36th to 41st Streets. Phasing of the work will take place following and concurrently with the phasing of the water main work.

Right of Way
Access to adjacent properties will be maintained during construction but may be limited at times due to traffic phasing requirements. In addition, utility coordination will be necessary on this project as pole relocation is anticipated this summer in the limits of street widening.
