Portion of South 40th Street Now Open Published on September 16, 2026 Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) today announced an update to the emergency water main repair on South 40th Street between Pioneers Boulevard and Prescott Avenue. South 40th Street is now open to traffic in both directions, with northbound traffic shifted to the common left-turn lane.
Water Main Repair Closes Portion of South 40th Street Published on September 16, 2026 Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) today announced that South 40th Street between Pioneers Boulevard and Prescott Avenue now has a full closure due to an emergency water main repair. Water service is expected to be restored later today Wednesday, September 16. Additional street repairs will be needed and a work schedule is being evaluated.
