Rock Steady Boxing

Rock Steady Boxing Lincoln Logo

Rock Steady Boxing is an exercise program based on training used by professional boxers and adapted for people with Parkinson's disease, to enhance their daily quality of life. Since July of 2016, Rock Steady Boxing has been taught by experienced trainers and includes stretching, bicycling, running, jumping rope, push-ups, balancing and non-contact boxing. 

Only those with Parkinson's disease may register for the program, and all participants must provide a physician's release. There are no age or condition restrictions and caregivers may need to be present to provide assistance during the class. 

Class Fee: $80 a month 
Class Day/Time: Vary depending on level. 
Assessment Fee: $45 one-time fee for a 90-minute assessment by the coach, which includes gloves, t-shirt and wraps

Adult Day Structure Programs

Day Structure enjoys their outing to the Nature Center's Herb Garden. The group poses for a picture among the beds. Our Day Structure programs are held in a supportive, caring environment, with trained and experienced staff. We have kind and caring volunteers and community specialists who lead groups and special programs. Clients are encouraged to set personal goals and participate in a broad spectrum of programs. A few of our program offerings include: Exercise & Physical Activities, Arts & Crafts, Gardening, Theatre/Drama, Nutrition & Cooking, Leisure Education, Life Skills, Special Events/Holiday Parties, Community Outings, and much, much more!

Adaptive Recreation Clubs 


Lincoln Parks & Recreation Adaptive Recreation Clubs are offered to individuals with disabilities. Clubs provide supervised settings for social interaction with friends, and offer a variety of age-appropriate activities. 

*Varied recreational and social activities with additional fees for some activities plus $1/month dues.
Transportation is available within Lincoln for an additional fee.

Fun Club 

Fun Club provides a safe, caring environment for kids to play and interact with peers. Fun club is open to children with disabilities and their siblings. Activities may include pet therapy, art projects, science experiments, holiday celebrations, and more!

Hi-Time Club

Join in the fun and games at Hi -Time club. Enjoy spending time with peers during activities like Pizza Parties, Talent Shows, guided painting, local high school sporting events, and other exciting adventures.

Day: Monday


Social Club

Socialize with friends and engaging, caring staff! Social club hosts holiday dances, costume parties, dinners, bingo, and many more activities. 

Age: 35+
Location: Auld Pavilion
Day: Wednesday


Friendship Club

Enjoy time with old friends, and build new friendships! Activities include dances, movies, crafts, local sporting events and so much more!

Age: 21-35
Location: Auld Pavilion
Day: Thursday


Adaptive Recreation Programs

Cooking Club

Plan, prepare, and cook quick and healthy meals. Participants will eat the food they prepare. Pre-registration required.

Ages: 17+
Weeks per session: 3 Weeks
Cost: $42.00 per session*

Adaptive Recreation Co-ed Bowling League

Teams bowl each week following regulation league rules and handicaps. Trophies will be awarded at the end of every season. Pre-registration required.

Art Class!: Holiday Ceramics

Come learn how to paint ceramic pieces using a variety of techniques! Class is held 3 Saturday mornings a month.

Location: Easterday Recreation Center (6130 Adams)
Day: Saturday Mornings
Fee: $26.75 for 3 weeks - Includes the cost of project supplies.
Ages: 17+

Art Class!: Canvas Painting

Participants will paint a seasonal painting through step-by-step guidance from the artist instructor. This class is open to people of all abilities and all skill levels. Class is held 1 Saturday morning a month
Pre-registration is required.
