LPD Announces Impaired Driving Enforcement Project Results

The Lincoln Police Department today announced the results of an impaired driving enforcement project conducted in December 2023. The Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over project is a nationwide campaign held annually in December.

Funded by a Nebraska Department of Transportation grant, the project allowed additional officers to log overtime hours during the nights and weekends. In total, on-duty and overtime officers arrested 112 individuals for driving under the influence. This is the highest number of DUIs arrested for this annual project since 2014.

These citations and arrests include several felony DUIs, seven felony narcotic arrests and a felony hit and run causing injury. Results from the overtime details are as follows:
