LPD Releases Results for NW Team Traffic Project | June 2025

Published on July 18, 2025

The Lincoln Police Department (LPD) today released results of an enhanced traffic enforcement project conducted by the Northwest Team in June. Officers worked overtime to specifically address traffic concerns reported by community members.

LPD reported that a significant number of traffic complaints received by the Northwest Team occur during peak service hours, when officers are often responding to high call volumes. To address that challenge, day-shift officers remained on duty after their regular shifts to focus solely on traffic enforcement. This strategy allowed second-shift officers to continue responding to calls for service while targeted traffic enforcement is conducted concurrently.

The Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office funded the project.

Total results are as follows:

Traffic Stops                                         176
