The Lincoln Police Department (LPD) is investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a 32-year-old Lincoln man.
On Monday, November 20, just after 2 p.m., officers were dispatched to S. 20th Street and Nebraska Parkway for a multi-vehicle crash. The preliminary investigation indicated a white 2013 Chevy Silverado pickup truck driven by a 38-year-old man from Crete, Nebraska, was driving westbound on Nebraska Parkway when a maroon 2009 Chevy Impala on S. 20th Street driven by 32-year-old Ryley Costello attempted to turn eastbound onto Nebraska Parkway. The two vehicles collided in the intersection.
Lincoln Fire & Rescue personnel took both drivers to a local hospital with critical injuries. Costello died from his injuries at the hospital. The driver of the pickup truck was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Drugs or alcohol are not suspected to be factors in the crash. The investigation is ongoing. Those with information can call our non-emergency number at 402-441-6000 or if you would like to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
