Comment on 10-Year Plan

The public is invited to comment on the 2021 update of the Parks and Recreation Department’s  10-year facilities plan. The plan is available for review at parks.lincoln.ne.gov, and printed copies available at the Parks and Recreation offices at 3131 “O” Street.

The plan identifies anticipated repair and replacement projects to keep the department’s facilities in good repair and operating condition. The plan also addresses the development of new neighborhood parks and trails to keep pace with community growth.  The plan is updated every two years as part of the City’s biennial budget process and guides the development of funding requests for capital improvement projects.

Public comments will be accepted through Friday, October 8 and can be submitted through the link on the website; by sending an email to parks@lincoln.ne.gov; by dropping comments off at the department’s offices; or by mailing them to the Lincoln Parks and Recreation Department, 3131 “O” Street, #300, Lincoln, NE  68501.

Public comments will be reviewed by department staff and a committee of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. The Board will consider approval of the plan during its regular monthly meeting at 4 p.m. Friday, November 12, at the Parks and Recreation offices.  Residents may provide comments during this meeting either in person or by Zoom (call 402-441-8264 to receive the  Zoom link).
