Aging Partners invites the public to a U.S. Navy Ceremonial Guard presentation and reception at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 22, at the Aging Partners Victory Park office, 600 S. 70th St. The event is part of Navy Week and is held in conjunction with the Guardians of Freedom Airshow August 26 and 27, featuring the U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels.

The celebration will feature a presentation by the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Guard, the official ceremonial unit of the Navy. At 2 p.m., the Guard will conduct a ceremony involving rifle drills.  The U.S. Navy Band Great Lakes Woodwind Quintet will also perform. U.S. Navy sailors who serve on the USS Nebraska and the USS Constitution will also be on hand to visit with senior center patrons and the public.

Refreshments will be served and the event is free to the public.

Navy Week occurs from August 21 through 27 and will bring a variety of assets, equipment and personnel to Lincoln for a weeklong series of engagements designed to bring America’s Navy closer to the people it protects. About 50 sailors from across the nation will volunteer throughout the community and discuss why the Navy matters to Lincoln. Various demonstrations, performances and engagements are planned.
