LTU Extends Sunday Landfill Hours After Weekend Storms
The City North 48th Street Transfer Station hours are being extended five additional hours today, Sunday, August 10 due to high volumes of vehicles dropping off tree debris. From noon to 5 p.m. today, the transfer station will only accept vehicles that are dropping off tree debris.
Plan for longer wait times at the North 48th Transfer Station. To avoid an extra charge, residents must cover and secure their loads. Cash, credit card, and check are accepted. Google Pay and Apple Pay are not accepted.
The City North 48th Street Transfer Station, 5101 N. 48th St. will resume normal operating hours Monday, August 11. Hours include:
- 6:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Monday through Friday
- 6:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays
- 6:45 a.m. to noon Sundays
- Regular disposal charges and fees apply. To avoid an extra charge, residents must cover and secure their loads.
LTU reports all traffic signals are back in operation. If a traffic signal suddenly loses power, the signal may begin flashing yellow, flashing red, or go dark due to power outages in the area.
LTU recommends if a vehicle approaches a dark traffic signal or flashing yellow or flashing red intersection, the driver should act as if the intersection is an all-way stop and proceed with caution.
