A temporary traffic signal has been installed at Van Dorn Street and Park Boulevard. The signal is currently flashing yellow for traffic on Van Dorn and is flashing red for traffic on Park Boulevard. Flashing red signals should be treated the same as a stop sign: Drivers must come to a complete stop and enter the intersection when traffic has cleared.
On Thursday, December 27, the temporary signal will be fully operational. Drivers are reminded that flashing yellow arrows mean they must yield to oncoming traffic and pedestrians in the crosswalk before turning. More information on flashing yellow arrows can be found at traffic.lincoln.ne.gov.
The temporary signal is the first phase of improvements planned to enhance safety and traffic flow at this intersection. In 2019, various turn lanes will be extended or added, and a new permanent traffic signal will be installed.
