City of Lincoln Mayor's Office 2006 Media Releases |
Football fans and other motorists are reminded that downtown parking meters in Lincoln will be enforced Friday, November 24. Downtown traffic will be heavy Friday due to the University of Nebraska’s home football game against Colorado, which is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Friday. Parking meters are enforced from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Parking is free only on Sundays and Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Metered parking is 25 cents per half-hour. The fee supports maintenance, staffing and construction of parking facilities. The fine for an expired meter is $10. Meters not operating properly can be reported to 441-7277. More information on public parking is available on the City Web site at lincoln.ne.gov (keyword: parking). |
