Mayor Chris Beutler announced today that he has received a letter of resignation from Fire Chief Niles Ford, who has accepted a position as City Manager in Chamblee, Georgia. Beutler appointed Ford as Fire Chief in August 2007. His final day with the City will be April 29.
"I am truly grateful for the tremendous job Niles has done in leading Lincoln Fire & Rescue," said Beutler. "I have always appreciated the talent and professionalism he brought to the job. He was an extremely valuable member of our team and he will be greatly missed. I'm very proud of the leadership he's shown and I wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors."
Beutler said the process for selecting a new Fire Chief will be announced at a later date.
