The mission of the Animal Control Division is; To Promote and Protect the Health of People and Pets. There is a strong connection to local public health and Animal Control. This includes infectious disease control (rabies prevention), injury prevention (animal bites), and sanitation. Animal Control is responsible for the enforcement of the Lincoln Municipal Code, Animal Ordinances.
Animal Control office is now open for licensing in person. Please be aware you may also license your pet through the following methods:
- Online – Select the “Permits & Licensing” button below and then follow the online instructions. Pet owners can complete and submit all forms and payment through the online application. For renewals, there is a QR code located on your billing statement for easy website access.
- By phone – Call 402-441-7900 and Animal Control will assist you.
- By mail – Print the Animal License Application available at lincoln.ne.gov/AnimalControl. Select “Permits & Licensing.” Enclose the completed application, other required forms and payment in an envelope and mail to:
