Close Shut-off #2.
Close Shut-off #1. If the air inlet valve opens, shut-off valve #2 is leaking and must be repaired before testing can be completed.
(Record this on the test report under “Shut-off #2.”)
Open Test Cock #1. If water drains from the test cock and the vent opens, the check valve is leaking. If water drains but the vent does not open, shut-off valve #1 is leaking. Repairs must be made before completing the test.

Close Test Cock #1.
Open Shut-off Valve #1.
Close all valves on the test kit.
Attach high-pressure hose to Test Cock #1.
Open Test Cock #1. Gauge should read
15 PSID or higher.
Close Shut-off Valve #1.
Open Test Cock #2. Gauge should drop to
no lower than 1 PSID.
If lower, the check valve is reported “Leaking.”
(Record this on the test report under “Check Valve Held At.”)
Close Test Cock #2.
Close Test Cock #1 and remove high-pressure hose.
Attach high-pressure hose to Test Cock #2.
Open Shut-off Valve #1.
Open Test Cock #2.
Bleed air from tester.
Close Shut-off Valve #1.
Slowly bleed down the pressure. The air vent must open at
1 PSID or higher.
