The City of Lincoln was recently awarded a Silver Bicycle Friendly Community designation by the League of American Bicyclists. It is Bike Lincoln's goal to create a safe, fun and healthy bicycling environment for everyone.

Salt Creek Levee Trail -Beginning Monday, October 11, the Salt Creek Levee Trail will be closed between Cornhusker Highway and North 27th Street while repairs are made to a culvert in the levee. The project is being conducted by the Lower Platte South Natural Resources District (NRD) and is expected to be completed by December 1.
Jamaica North Trail - Beginning Monday, October 4, the Jamaica North Trail between South 14th Street and Saltillo Road will be closed for a bridge replacement project. The work is expected to be completed in four weeks. A detour route is not available for this section.
Tierra Williamsburg Trail -The Tierra Williamsburg Trail between Tierra and Sequoia drives will be closed Wednesday, September 29 for adjacent landscape work. The work is anticipated to be completed the same day. Trail users are encouraged to use South 30th Street during the closure.
Rosa Parks Way Trail Construction Start Date(PDF, 88KB) - The Rosa Parks Way Trail project will begin construction on Monday, August 2, 2021. Project location is near 1st and J Streets. This 970’ long trail will connect the existing trail along Salt Creek by passing underneath the BNSF railroad track structures. A detour will not be necessary as a temporary trail will be available for trail users. Project is expected to be completed this Fall.
South Beltway Construction and utility relocation - In preparation for the South Beltway construction, many utilities are being relocated, requiring occasional short closures in the area 1/2 mile south of Saltillo Road. Obey closure barricades when they are in place. The Jamaica North Trail will remain open during South Beltway Construction with a temporary construction bridge over the trail and occasional flaggers on the trail during night work. This is a multi-year project.
Rock Island Trail - Beginning Friday, April 23, the portion of the Rock Island Trail that passes through the Lincoln Children’s Zoo, between 27th and “A” streets, will be closed during renovation of the Cascade Fountain. The project on the southeast corner of the 27th Street and Capitol Parkway intersection is expected to continue through fall.
