Bike Lincoln is the City's bicycling information and resource site, featuring useful information on registering your bike and planning your trip as well as smart cycling tipsinformative videoslinks to local non profits and bike shops and applicable laws. The City of Lincoln was recently awarded a Silver Bicycle Friendly Community designation by the League of American Bicyclists. It is Bike Lincoln's goal to create a safe, fun and healthy bicycling environment for everyone.

  • Rosa Parks Way Trail Construction Start Date(PDF, 88KB) - The Rosa Parks Way Trail project will begin construction on Monday, August 2, 2021. Project location is near 1st and J Streets. This 970’ long trail will connect the existing trail along Salt Creek by passing underneath the BNSF railroad track structures. A detour will not be necessary as a temporary trail will be available for trail users. Project is expected to be completed this Fall.

  • South Beltway Construction and utility relocation - In preparation for the South Beltway construction, many utilities are being relocated, requiring occasional short closures in the area 1/2 mile south of Saltillo Road. Obey closure barricades when they are in place. The Jamaica North Trail will remain open during South Beltway Construction with a temporary construction bridge over the trail and occasional flaggers on the trail during night work. This is a multi-year project.

  • Rock Island TrailBeginning Friday, April 23, the portion of the Rock Island Trail that passes through the Lincoln Children’s Zoo, between 27th and “A” streets, will be closed during renovation of the Cascade Fountain. The project on the southeast corner of the 27th Street and Capitol Parkway intersection is expected to continue through fall. 


Scooters are not allowed on multi-use paths or City trails.
