Bike Lincoln is the City's bicycling information and resource site, featuring useful information on registering your bike and planning your trip as well as smart cycling tipsinformative videoslinks to local non profits and bike shops and applicable laws. Use the easy comment form to provide input on improving your Lincoln bicycling experience.

The City of Lincoln was recently awarded a Silver Bicycle Friendly Community designation by the League of American Bicyclists. It is Bike Lincoln's goal to create a safe, fun and healthy bicycling environment for everyone.

  • South Beltway Construction and utility relocation - In preparation for the South Beltway construction, many utilities are being relocated, requiring occasional short closures in the area 1/2 mile south of Saltillo Road. Obey closure barricades when they are in place. The Jamaica North Trail will remain open during South Beltway Construction with a temporary construction bridge over the trail and occasional flaggers on the trail during night work. This is a multi-year project.

  • Salt Creek Levee Trail between "A" and Calvert streets is now closed while the Army Corps of Engineers repairs the levees. The project completion date has not been determined. Trail users are advised to use the Jamaica North Trail in that area.

  • Salt Creek Levee Trail between Park Boulevard and the Jamaica North Trail will be closed for work on levees in the area beginning March 1, 2021.  The closure is scheduled to last four weeks, weather permitting. The Park Boulevard trailhead just south of Van Dorn Street will remain open and provide access to the Bison, Van Dorn, Jamaica North and Salt Creek Levee trails. Vehicle parking at the trailhead may be limited. Trail users may also access the Jamaica North Trail by exiting the Salt Creek Levee Trail at West “A” Street, following the trails along West “A” Street and rejoining the trail at Fourth Street.

  • MoPac Trail at 94th Street will be closed for road construction beginning March 30. The work is expected to be completed by the end of June. 84th and 94th streets will remain open, but trail users on that section must turn around at 94th Street. Eastbound trail users are advised to start trips at the South 98th and “A” streets trailhead. Westbound trail users are advised to start at the trailhead on 84th Street. 

  • Rock Island TrailBeginning Friday, April 23, the portion of the Rock Island Trail that passes through the Lincoln Children’s Zoo, between 27th and “A” streets, will be closed during renovation of the Cascade Fountain. The project on the southeast corner of the 27th Street and Capitol Parkway intersection is expected to continue through fall. 



Scooters are not allowed on multi-use paths or City trails.
