Beginning Wednesday, April 8, pavement repair work will result in lane closures on Superior Street from Technology Drive to I-180. Two-way traffic will be maintained during construction which is expected to take about nine weeks. Access to side streets and driveways will be limited for short periods of time during the milling and asphalt operations. No lanes will be closed on Saturday, April 11, the day of the UNL spring football game.
In addition to new asphalt and pavement markings, the project includes reconstruction of the pedestrian curb ramps at the intersection of 1st and Superior streets to meet ADA standards. During this work, the intersection will be closed to pedestrian traffic for about 72 hours.
The contractors, MTZ Construction, will work with the City to maintain access for businesses and residents during construction.
