Responses from the public regarding the Wesleyan Fire November 17, 2006

From: Brian Daake, Beatrice Fire Chief, Beatrice, NE (11/21/2006) I would like to take the time to thank you and your firefighters for your quick response in the Wesleyan fire. Last Sunday, at church, I was approached by the parents of one of the boys that you rescued from the fire. Apparently your firefighters had to wake him up and got him out. Mr. and Mrs. Harmon are very appreciative of all of your efforts at the incident. I don't know Tom Harmon very well but his parents say that he is getting along fine now. His mother told me that your firefighters had to wake Tom up and then escorted him out of the building. Please pass along my thanks and the thanks of our Church's Congregation in the saving the life of Tom and all of the others to your crews that were involved in that horrible incident. Hopefully this will be a catalyst to prevent other such needles deaths.

You will always hold a special place in my heart and all of my families heart. There are not enough words to describe how much we appreciate your outstanding courage!
