25TH ANNUAL FUN RUN/WALK ZOO DAY Residents are invited to participate in the 25th Annual Fun Run/Walk Zoo Day on Saturday, May 10 at the Lincoln Children’s Zoo, 1222 S. 27th St. Registration is at 9:30 a.m. with the fun run/walk beginning at 10 a.m. in the parking lot near the zoo entrance. Participants will circle the zoo for one mile and finish where the race began. Following the fun run/walk, participants are invited to join Lincoln Fire and Rescue (LF&R) for Fire Safety Day at the Zoo until 3 p.m. Activities include visits to LF&R’s Fire Safety House, a chance to view a fire engine and ambulance, puppet shows and other fire safety activities demonstrated both inside and outside of the zoo. Participants in the fun run/walk will receive a free train ride around the zoo. Fun run/walk registration does not include zoo admittance. Joining Lincoln Fire and Rescue in co-sponsoring this family event are Lincoln Children’s Zoo, 96 KX, HyVee, State Farm Insurance and 92.9 The Eagle. Click here for more information on this.
