Free Health Services Available in Lincoln and Lancaster County

The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department provides a variety of free health services to those with limited access to medical or dental care. You can access these services in two ways:

The Mobile Health Clinic (MHC), a vehicle with two exam rooms and a waiting room, is used for dental screenings; application of children's dental sealants; nursing services such as immunizations and blood pressure, glucose, or cholesterol testing; and specialty clinics (women's health diabetes assessment, and adult health screenings). The MHC provides low-income individuals a first step for accessing health care, and provides referrals as necessary if screening procedures result in a need for dental or medical treatment. LLCHD nurses, health educators, and dental hygienists staff the Mobile Health Clinic. Types of clinics, sites, dates, and times can be found on the calendar on this site.

Health stations are located inside agencies around the city/county (see sites, dates, and times in calendar below). Public Health Nurses offer clients education and referrals regarding their health questions, as well as immunizations, assessment of blood pressure, hemoglobin, blood glucose (either fasting or two hours after eating), and cholesterol testing ($5 charge for the latter at the health stations).
