Seward County Senior Services is jointly sponsored by county, State, and Federal funds made available through the Seward County Board of Commissioners and the Lincoln Area Agency on Aging.  Contributions for services and donations also help to support the Program.

Seward County Senior Services

Seward County Senior Services is dedicated to helping older individuals live independently and remain an active and vital part of the Community.  We help to ensure that all older persons in Seward County have access to social, educational and recreational programs. We are a resource for older adults and their families providing information about the network of services available throughout the county.   

Seward County Senior Services is open Monday thru Friday from 8:30 a.m. till 3:00 p.m. except for recognized County Holidays and inclement weather.  If in doubt, please call       402-761-3593 for information.

Senior Centers in Seward County

Senior Centers in Seward County are located in Seward, Milford, and Utica.  The Centers are community meeting places where older persons can come together for fellowship, group meals, recreation and educational opportunities.  A noon meal is available for a suggested contribution for  individuals 60 years of age or older.  Meals are also available for Individuals under 60 for a fee.

There are individual, extenuating circumstances that may qualify someone to receive a noon meal for a suggested donation.  Please call and visit with the Seward County Program Manager for details.  Modified diets are available when necessary.  Anyone wishing to eat at a Center must make advance reservations.

Activities at the Centers include educational and informational programs, recreation, telephone reassurance programs, volunteer recognitions, tours and trips, wellness programs, congregate and home delivered meals, and much more!

Home Delivered Meals

Home Delivered Meals are available to home-bound seniors in Utica, Ne. for a suggested contribution of $2.30.  These meals are delivered 7 days a week and on holidays.  Call 402-534-3435 for complete information and/or to set up service.

Senior Companion Program

The goal of the program is to help older persons maintain a positive independent lifestyle.  Seniors visit and assist the elderly in their homes, providing older persons with a one-on-one support service.  Call the Seward County Program Manager for details, 402-761-3593.

S.A.L.T.

Seniors and Lawmen Together help reduce crimes and scams against the elderly.  The committee consists of two representatives from the three senior centers along with the County Sheriff, the Seward and Milford Police Chiefs, and the Seward County Aging Services Director.

Friendly Visitor Program

This program involves Concordia University students.  The students spend time visiting elderly shut-ins during the school year.  Check with your neighborhood Senior Center or call the Seward County Program Manager for details, 402-761-3593.  (back to top)
