Reserve a Ballfield or Court

$24 per hour

Lincoln Parks and Recreation’s premiere ball fields with agri-lime infields and irrigated outfields. Maintenance is scheduled at least twice per week.

Silver Ballfields

$18 per hour

These fields are excellent for both games and practice. These fields also have agri-lime infields. Some fields have irrigated outfields and most have maintenance scheduled twice per week during peak use.

Bronze Ballfields

$13 per hour

These fields are good for team practice or a pick-up game. Some of these fields will have agri-lime infields but will not have irrigated outfields. These are scheduled for maintenance once per week during peak use.

Sherman Field

• Rented for games only, not practices.
• Grass infield: $515.00/day

Light Fees

• $8.00/hr: 1 hour minimum ¼ hours after
• $17.00/hr: Densmore #1 and #2 and Sherman

The Lincoln Parks and Recreation Department will provide the following:

• Initial field dragging and brooming. If games are scheduled to start prior to 9:00am dragging/brooming is not guaranteed.
• Hand tools for field maintenance.
• Barrels and trash bags
• Restroom supplies

Renters Rules and Responsibilities are as Follows:

• Lining fields
• Providing field maintenance between games as needed. This would include raking, dragging, and touching up field lines.
• Keep equipment and storage areas secured and locked when not in use.
• Motor vehicles are not to be on any part of the field, sidewalk, trails, grass or any other area not authorized for motor vehicles
• Tents or other structures needing ground stakes are not to be used.
• Teams are not to be allowed to have “soft toss” batting practice against fences 

Please Note: Online reservations DO NOT include access to lights, bases, chalk, or field preparation equipment. 

Use Expectations

• Your field use is for a specific time period. Your games are to end within the time frame. Don’t infringe on the next team's field use.
• "Soft Toss" batting practice against fences is NOT permitted.
• Do Not move permanent pitching rubbers or home plates.
• Do Not remove bases or equipment from field.

Tobacco Ban

• Municipal Code Section 12.08.330 is in effect for all City of Lincoln ballfields including bleachers, concession buildings and surrounding areas.
• The tobacco ban includes products burned, inhaled, chewed or other forms of ingestion.  E-cigarettes are included in the Tobacco Ban policy.

Practice Fields: Open Fields $16/hr. per field.

Densmore Soccer Fields: $55.00/hr. per field.

Tournament use fee is $300.00 per field per day.

Other soccer fields available reservation online.

Weekly reservations are taken beginning on Wednesdays at 9 AM for the following week. 

Special Arrangement Gym Use

1. Special arrangements are possible to organizations that are unable to plan activities with less than two weeks notice. To be considered for a special reservation, a group must meet at least one of the following criteria.
   • The activity must be offered as a recreation component of another program that required advanced planning.
   • b. The activity is being integrate with a room rental. c. No more than 25% of available time per day may be scheduled for “Special Arrangements.”
2. Reservations are for a 55 minute time period.
3. Reservations for volleyball are for a full court. Reservations for basketball are for half court.
4. The cost for a “Special” reservation is $5.00 for 55 minutes beyond the standard fee.
5. “Special Arrangement” reservations are to be paid in advance. Reservations not paid 15 days in advance may not be available.
6. The Lincoln Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to make the final decision on any “Special Arrangement.”

$15 for 55 minutes for half court (1 basket), during open hours
$30 for 55 minutes for full court (2 baskets), during open hours

Priority of Rentals 

The 29 fields covered in this manual have an order of priority use that is set forth as follows: 

• Priority Group 1: City of Lincoln and City of Lincoln affiliates

• Priority Group 2: Recognized Adult and Youth Sports Organizations

• Priority Group 3: Non-Profit clubs, teams and organizations

• Priority Group 4: General requests

 It is the commitment of the Team Sports staff to accommodate as many organizations as possible.  Organizations will be asked to fit their activity into the best accommodating facilities.  

The City of Lincoln has a number of Reciprocal Use Agreements with certain organizations as a means  to facilitate programs. These Agreements must be accommodated first, as well as honoring long  standing tournaments and activities that have developed a historical standing.

We offer three different levels of reservations for our ball fields: Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Each level of field offers different amenities.

Cancellations

 PLEASE make sure you have an account with our TeamSideline system, and are enabled to accept text messages notifying you of field use cancellations due to weather, or poor field conditions.

How can I pay for my Field Rental Key Deposit?

A$50 cash ONLY deposit is accepted at the time of key checkout at the Team Sports Office at 3131 O St., Ste. 300 between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM, M-F. 

How do I know if my games / field use has been cancelled due to weather / rain?

When should I call to reschedule my rained out field reservation?

Please wait to call about rescheduling a rained-out reservation until the following business day of your reservation.

Can I get a refund on my field reservation?

The reservation fee is nonrefundable once you make your reservation. However, we can move your reservation for you, as long as you are willing to move your current reservation to a date within the 2 weeks that is currently available for reservation. Feel free to call 402-441-7892 to inquire about moving your reservation time to a different date.

When rescheduling a ballfield whether due to a rainout or otherwise, can I for example, move my reservation from a Bronze level field to a Silver or Gold level Field or vice versa?

A: You can move your reservation to another ballfield that is in that same field level or lower. For example, if you reserve a silver level field, you can move your reservation to another silver or bronze level field, but not gold.

Am I able to turn ON / OFF the lights at the ballfields, or access bases, chalk, and field preparation equipment?

A: If needing access to any, or all of the above mentioned amenities, field reservation must be made via the Team Sports Office at 3131 O St., Ste. 300 between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM, or by calling our office for more information at 402-441-7892.  Additional paperwork, and rental obligations are required when desiring access to these amenities.

Who should I call about reserving an Indoor Court Reservation?

Court reservations can be made online. If you need to make a change to your reservation, directly contact the specific recreation center where you made your reservation.

Who do I contact about reserving Fleming Fields?

To rent a field/s at Fleming contact UNL Campus Recreation at (402) 472-3467, as Lincoln Parks and Recreation doesn’t maintain or operate those fields.

Who do I contact to reserve a tennis court?

Tennis courts in the parks are first come first serve. Contact Woods Tennis Center (402) 441-7095 for questions about courts at 33^rd and J St.

Youth Team Sports FAQ

I signed up my adult team for the upcoming season. When will schedules be out?

Schedules will be released a week after registration closes, and week before games begin.

I signed up my kid for the upcoming season but haven’t heard anything yet…

It takes a few weeks to build the teams after registration ends. Then we have a meeting with the volunteer coaches. After that, coaches will reach out to all the parents letting them know when they plan to have a practice.
