Portion of “A” Street to Temporarily Close Beginning December 29

Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) today announced that “A” Street between South 48th Street and South Cotner Boulevard will close starting Monday, December 29, for Lincoln Electric System utility work. The work is expected to be completed after 5 p.m. Tuesday, December 30.

Deceased Person Found in Furnas County Identified as Jerica Hamre

The Lincoln Police Department and Nebraska State Patrol have identified the person found deceased in rural Furnas County last week as Jerica Hamre. Hamre was first reported missing from Lincoln on July 3, 2024. Her death is being investigated as a homicide and the Lincoln Police Department have a suspect who is currently in custody on unrelated charges.
