City Council Approves Steffen as Chief Information Officer

The Lincoln City Council today approved Carl Steffen as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Lincoln and Lancaster County. Steffen has served as the interim CIO since February 2025. The Lancaster County Board is scheduled to vote on Steffen’s appointment at its meeting Tuesday, October 28, and if approved, he would begin serving immediately.

City Honors James Valentine with Street Renaming

Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird today announced that a portion of Canopy Street in the Railyard will be temporarily renamed “James Valentine Blvd.” to honor the Lincoln native, Lincoln Southeast High School graduate, and lead guitarist for Maroon 5. The band performs at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Tuesday, October 28.
