Officer Jeff Urkevich has been an officer with LPD since May of 1997. Jeff has been a canine handler since 2003. Officer Urkevich's first partner Zito, was killed in a traffic accident in 2006 and Jeff is now joined by Jake. Jake is a German Shepherd from the Czech Republic and is trained as a dual purpose canine, trained in patrol and narcotics.
