Teen Arrested for Series of Break-ins

Lincoln Police were able to make an arrest on a disturbing series of cases that have occurring since August 2008. In each case, a young woman awoke in the early morning hours to find an unknown male in her bedroom. On Sunday, January 25, 2009, Lincoln Police received the most recent report. A twenty year old woman, living in the 2200 block of Holdrege, awoke at 5:15am and observed a male lying on the floor at the foot of her bed. She startled him and he ran from her residence. When officers arrived, they found footprints in the freshly fallen snow that led directly from the front door of the victim's residence to the rear door of 1833 Whittier. A sixteen year old male, Ruach Tang, was contacted at that residence. He was interviewed and later lodged at the Youth Detention Center. Ruach has been arrested on four counts of Trespassing, two counts of 3rd degree Sexual Assault, one incident of Child Abuse and one count of Burglary. In each case, he entered the home through an unsecured door or window.

We believe that Ruach Tang is also responsible for the following incidents:

  • On 8-13-08, at 4:40am, the twenty-one year old woman awoke to an unknown male standing in her bedroom. The victim lived in an apartment in the 1800 block of N 24th Street. Victim could not see what the suspect was doing but said he was making a motion consistent with masturbation. He also touched her while she slept. The suspect fled the residence prior to officer arrival.

  • On 9-9-08, at 3:30am, a twenty year old woman awoke to a male hunched over the desk in her bedroom. The victim said "hey" and the suspect took off running. She called her twenty two year old sister who lived upstairs. The sister heard the phone ringing and awoke to see a man with the same description crouched in her bedroom by the closet. The suspect ran out of her bedroom and out the back door of their residence in the 2200 block of Dudley Street.

  • On 12-14-08, at 4:35am, a sixteen year old girl was sleeping in a bedroom of her family's home in the 1700 block of N 22nd Street. She awoke to find an unknown male in her room. She said that male approached her and it appeared he was going to touch her. Out of fear, she escaped from her bedroom window and ran to a neighbor's home.

  • Ruach Tang
