Warrant Detail a Success
On May 21, 2009, from 1pm-9pm, members of the Southwest Team, Southeast Team, Northwest Team, SWAT Team and Canine Unit came together to conduct an arrest warrant detail. With over 9,600 outstanding warrants in Lincoln/Lancaster County, their focus was to minimize that number. Overall, the detail was a success. Captains of these teams recognized a problem and brought the teams together to take a pro-active approach to combat the issue.
Teams of officers made as many contacts as possible during the detail in their assigned area. In total, 265 warrants were attempted with 60 warrants served.
Meanwhile, six officers also participated in a “saturation detail’. They patrolled specific areas of SW Lincoln with recent criminal activity taking an assertive approach to any offenses observed. These officers issued 43 traffic citations and 61 warning citations.
In addition, 9 narcotic citations were written and 9 misdemeanor citations were issued for offenses including MIP, Open Container, False Information and Indecent Exposure.
