Southwest Officers Conduct Liquor Compliance Check
On August 13, 2010, officers on Lincoln Police Department’s Southwest Team conducted a liquor compliance detail. From 7pm-midnight, an eighteen year old minor accompanied officers to eighteen different on and off-sale liquor establishments. At each location, the minor attempted to purchase alcohol. When asked, he would produce his actual Nebraska driver’s license, indicating that he was underage. Out of the eighteen establishments, he was provided alcohol at five locations. Each employee providing alcohol was issued a citation for Serving Alcohol to a Minor and released. The tavern violations may also be forwarded to the Liquor Control Commission for further review.
