Captain Brian Jackson Selected as Assistant Chief
The Lincoln Police Department is pleased to announce the selection of Captain Brian Jackson as the new Assistant Chief. His promotion is effective immediately. Brian Jackson brings a wealth of knowledge and career experience to the position. He has been with the Lincoln Police Department since June 1987. During that time, he has served in a variety of capacities including Investigator, Training Sergeant, Duty Captain and, most recently, Commander of the Lincoln/Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force. He holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of Nebraska - Omaha. He graduated from the 233rd session of FBI National Academy and currently serves as an adjunct instructor for the University of Nebraska- Lincoln, teaching undergraduate criminal justice courses. Prior to his employment with the Lincoln Police Department, he was an officer in Hastings, Nebraska.
Brian Jackson brings experience in public affairs, negotiations, planning, supervision and leadership. Brian has served on a number of committees, both within our organization and externally. He has been recognized with awards for civic achievement, exceptional duty and meritorious conduct. In April, he received national recognition with HIDTA's award for Outstanding Investigative Effort. Captain Jackson assisted with dismantling a large narcotics operation in which approximately $14 million to $21 million worth of marijuana was seized. The task force's investigative techniques have been used as a model for other agencies. Chief James Peschong commented, "Brian's dedication to public service is exemplary and I look forward to working with him as we move forward."
