"You Drink & Drive. You Lose." Results
To impact impaired driving and to coincide with the nationwide "You Drink & Drive. You Lose." campaign, the Lincoln Police Department conducted specialized enforcement from August 26, 2011 through September 3, 2011. Increased enforcement for the project was funded by a grant through the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety (NOHS).
Nineteen officers conducted high visibility traffic enforcement to deter impaired driving. Officers took a zero tolerance approach to drivers under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. They were also alert for other traffic and safety violations. Saturation enforcement results:
