Arrest Warrant Detail Clears 49 Warrants
On May 16, 2013, members of Lincoln Police Department's Southwest Team, Southeast Team, Canine Unit, and Emergency Communications Center conducted a large scale arrest warrant detail. Officers saturated the city in two-person teams, contacting as many offenders as possible. The organized effort was to help reduce the high volume of arrest warrants in Lincoln. The detail proved successful with 375 warrants attempted and 49 warrants served. The individuals arrested were wanted for misdemeanor and felony offenses.
Meanwhile, several officers also participated in a "saturation detail". They patrolled specific areas of Lincoln, taking an assertive approach to any offenses observed. These officers issued 125 official traffic citations and 120 warning citations. In addition, 7 narcotics citations were written and 9 misdemeanor citations were issued including false information, carrying concealed weapon, possession of a stolen vehicle and assault.
