Purpose:
To provide advice and recommendations to the Mayor, the City Council and Parks and Recreation Department on issues regarding planting, maintenance, and preservation of trees and associated vegetation on City property.
This board advises the Mayor and City Council on the city's tree resources, encompassing issues such as planting, maintenance and preservation. The board assists in the development of a comprehensive community forestry management plan and in formulating policies regarding tree and vegetation planting, maintenance and removal. It reviews and makes recommendations on proposals that concern trees on public property and promote landscaping on public and private property.
