Purpose:

To provide advice and recommendations to the Mayor, the City Council and the Director of Lincoln Parks and Recreation Department on issues regarding planting, maintenance, and preservation of trees and associated vegetation on City property.

This board advises the Mayor and City Council on the city's tree resources, encompassing issues such as planting, maintenance, and preservation. The board assists in the development of a comprehensive community forestry management plan and in formulating policies regarding tree and vegetation planting, maintenance, and removal. It reviews and makes recommendations on proposals that concern trees on public property, and promotes landscaping on public and private property.  The Board promotes educational activities, such as the annual Arbor Day celebration, and community engagement among interested citizens and partners.

Special Requirements: Seven members must reside within the City of Lincoln.

Members of the public are invited to attend quarterly board meetings.
